Now is the time for all aspiring colts cricketers of all abilities to come along and meet with like minded Colts at Histon Cricket Club.
This year we are running 3 colts teams-under 11′s, under-12′s and under 15′s. The under 11′s train on a Monday night at the Rec 6.15-7.30pm, the under 12′s on Tuesday night 6.15-7.30pm and the under 15′s the same time on a Wednesday. All teams have been entered into the Cambridgeshire leagues and we hope to give as many colts as possible the opportunity to play with a view to eventually filtering through to the adult sides. Many Colts will play in these sides in weekend matches alongside adult players. We are also focusing our efforts at the grassroots level with a link up with both Histon Junior School and Impington Village College. On Mondays we have a net session at IVC immediately after school and on Tuesdays we run Kwik cricket at Histon Junior School. All nets session are overseen by qualified coaches. In addition the Club supports the Kwik Cricket on the Rec.
Histon Cricket Club this season will be running 3 adult sides as well as the 3 colts teams. Coming into the new season all three adult sides will be hoping for promotion. The teams provide cricket for the more serious cricketer as well as those of lesser ability just entering the cricketing world. Nets are every Thursday from 6pm at the Rec.
Histon Cricket Club has recently been awarded “ClubMark” (a quality standard for administration, coaching and development of young cricketers) and is a focus club for the Cambridgeshire Cricket Board.
